Clayton Baxter better known by his stage name G MEDZ, is a promising Jamaican recording artiste. Hailing from the parish of Clarendon, G MEDZ grew up in small community called Lampard where he attended the Frankfield Primary and then later moved on to Edwin Allen High School.
From a very early age, Baxter knew that he wanted to pursue a career in music but this dream wasn’t realized until much later in his life. He started off singing in the youth choir at church and participated in various community events, where he was further encouraged by his peers and other community members to become a recording artiste.
It wasn’t until 2011 G MEDZ began to take music seriously and made the conscious decision to pursue music as viable career option. He along with some friends, namely Alkamis, Jay Dan, Nass with the same ambitions towards music put together a team, thus Fruitful Records was born.
Baxter says he got his musical influences by listening to the likes of Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Buju Banton and also Beenie Man.
His name started to grow within Clarendon and captured a host of followers which enabled him to showcase his talent at various locations. He has been featured at local stage shows throughout Clarendon and performed at the Miss Frankfield Primary Modeling Contest.
As his musical confidence grew, he recorded songs such as Underage, Time to do Everything, Top Class Body, With Jah, Life and Happy Days.
G MEDZ is a versatile artiste; describing his style of music as cultural based/reggae and hard hitting hip hop music as well. He always maintains a positive and uplifting message in all of his songs.
With his strong voice and vivacious personality, the upcoming sensation has proven to his fans that he is here to stay. G MEDZ is working hard on his clean positive music to become a global artiste.
